Not very long ago, in 2014, Malone Souliers<\/a> was launched \u2014 a name every shoe aficionado has heard of. It is a brand that became swiftly popular for its quintessential feminine shoes. The creator and mastermind behind some of the cult-favorite designs from the House is the creative director and founder, Mary Alice Malone. Her desire to create led her to an art school in Colorado, where she engaged in the process of furniture designing, carpentry, and upholstery. Her talent finally found a place in the art of shoemaking, and she honed her skills at Cordwainers at the London College of Fashion, then continued to grow her craft at prominent ateliers before setting up her label in London.<\/span><\/p>\n

Debuted in 2015, Malone Souliers Maureen is the first shoe launched by the brand and was an instant success. The artisanal techniques used in making the Maureen find expression in the shape of the shoe\u2014driven by the use of innovation and age-old cordwainer\u2019s craft.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The process is onset with hand-cutting the wave-like curves stitched together by expert seamstresses, then adding the trademark dual straps and the sweeping stiletto heels. The result is an unapologetically feminine silhouette that exudes grace and refinement. The Maureen celebrates the natural shape of the foot with its curvy arch that culminates to form pointed-toes. The twin arch straps that were first added to only support the feet are now the most recognizable element of the collection \u2014 framing the feet delicately adds a dainty note and makes them innately wearable. A pair can take up to a week to make and is approached by creative hands. One dedicated specialist is assigned for each procedure of cutting, stitching, mounting the heel, quality check, and finally assembling the final result in a box.<\/span><\/p>\n
