Right from the vibrant floral dresses to the matching accessories, every creation will leave you spellbound. Whether it is the Alta Moda collection that gave a lesson on Italian art history through fashion or the Fatto a Mano campaign that celebrated Italian craftsmanship, their <\/span>embroideries are like visual art, like paintings telling a magnificent story.<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Brand Inception<\/h2>\n

After its inception in 1985, the Dolce & Gabbana<\/a> label had its first runway show in Milan in the same year. Over the years, the one thing that has been constant and evident in their designs is an undying love for their country Italy, more specifically, Dolce\u2019s hometown, Sicily. Their first collection included angora and tulle fabrics, as well as jersey lace and soft, extravagant skirts. Some of their favorite materials have been silk, wool, and crocheted lace.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fashion designers often turn to the past for innovation. They had remarked during their earlier shows, “We want to use the past to project it into the future.” This inspiration and foresight have remained consistent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Inspiration<\/h2>\n

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have long been considered the inventors of the Mediterranean style.<\/span> As always, this designer duo draws inspiration from Sicily <\/span>\u2014 <\/span>the Mediterranean island admired for its rich landscapes and historical monuments. The flora, specifically, plays an important role in the brand\u2019s fabrics. They are blended with animal prints, polka dots, checks, and Majolica prints.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with the creative use of vibrant colors and different fabrics, we see many flowers making their presence felt. Roses entwined into shoes and headbands, <\/span>hydrangeas and poppies on dresses<\/a>, lilies and daisies on handbags<\/span> \u2014 <\/span>all leave us in absolute awe and admiration, mentally transporting us to Sicily and eternal springtime.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Alta Moda Collection<\/h2>\n

Celebrating the richness of nature and Italian craftsmanship, this collection displays floral motifs in a variety of materials <\/span>\u2014 <\/span>be it sequins, silk, or even real flowers. The 2021 Alta Moda show was a breathtaking display of extraordinary couture creations, a wonderful fantasy of embroideries, embellishments, and theatrical silhouettes which resonated with the brand\u2019s love for unique, extravagant pieces.<\/span> As always, flowers were one of the main characters. <\/span><\/p>\n
