{"id":87783,"date":"2015-06-21T14:36:49","date_gmt":"2015-06-21T14:36:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.theluxurycloset.com\/2015\/06\/21\/prince-william-kate-middletons-royal-romance-timeline\/"},"modified":"2015-06-21T14:36:49","modified_gmt":"2015-06-21T14:36:49","slug":"prince-william-kate-middletons-royal-romance-timeline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theluxurycloset.com\/blog\/2015\/06\/21\/prince-william-kate-middletons-royal-romance-timeline\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince William and Kate Middleton&#8217;s Royal Romance: A Timeline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the Duke of Cambridge celebrates his 32nd birthday today (as do The\u00a0Killers&#8217; singer Brandon Flowers and Lana Del Rey, we hasten to add), we take a trip down memory lane, and look back on the fairytale romance that came about over a decade ago.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>September 2001<\/strong>: Prince William and\u00a0Kate Middleton\u00a0meet at St Andrews University, Scotland where they are both studying art history (but William later switches to a geography course.)\u00a0The pair have rooms close to each other in the St Salvators Hall of Residence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>September 2002:<\/strong>\u00a0They move into a student house together, with two other friends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>June 2003:<\/strong> Kate attends William&#8217;s 21st birthday party at Windsor Castle, but the Prince later claims in an interview\u00a0that he does not have a steady girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>September 2003:<\/strong>\u00a0William, Kate and their two flatmates move into a cottage in the third year of university.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Christmas 2003:<\/strong> William and Kate are believed to have become an item after she splits from her previous boyfriend, a former St Andrews student.<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 2004:<\/strong> The couples romance is exposed after they are pictured together on the ski slopes of Klosters, Switzerland. Clarence House do not deny they are dating.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 2005:<\/strong> William and Kate graduate in the same ceremony at St Andrews and attend a celebratory lunch together joined by their families.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 2005:<\/strong> The pair enjoy a romantic holiday at the Lewa Downs game reserve in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 2005:<\/strong> Kate&#8217;s lawyers &#8211; the same used by the Prince of Wales &#8211; ask newspaper editors to leave her alone, claiming she is being hounded by photographers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 2006:<\/strong>\u00a0The pair holiday in the Caribbean hideaway island Mustique.<\/p>\n<p><strong>January 2006:<\/strong> William is photographed kissing Kate in public for the first time during another skiing break.<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 2006<\/strong>: William and Kate attend the wedding of the Prince&#8217;s stepsister Laura Parker Bowles together.<\/p>\n<p><strong>August 2006:<\/strong>\u00a0The couple holiday in Ibiza.<\/p>\n<p><strong>December 2006:<\/strong> Kate makes her most significant appearance to date as she turns up to watch William graduate as an Army officer at Sandhurst.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 2007:<\/strong> William and Kate are confirmed to have split.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 2007<\/strong>: The couple are reported to be dating again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 2008:<\/strong>\u00a0Kate watches as William receives his wings as a qualified RAF pilot from the Prince of Wales &#8211; her first appearance<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 2010:<\/strong>\u00a0The couple move in together into a cottage in north Wales close to Prince William&#8217;s RAF Valley in Angelsey.at a formal event with Prince William since December 2006.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 2010:<\/strong>\u00a0The couple become engaged after William proposes while on holiday in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 2011:<\/strong>\u00a0The pair wed in a lavish ceremony at London\u2019s Westminster Abbey. William is made the Duke of Cambridge by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and Kate becomes the Duchess of Cambridge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>December 2012:\u00a0<\/strong>The palace announces that Kate is pregnant and being treated in the hospital for acute morning sickness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 2013:<\/strong>\u00a0Kate gives birth to Prince George Alexander Louis., weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces, with William by her side.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 2014:<\/strong>\u00a0The palace announces that Kate is pregnant with their second child<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 2015:<\/strong>\u00a0Kate is admitted to London hospital for birth of her second baby, Princess\u00a0Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
