New to the Luxury Closet is a brand described by many as “quintessentially English.” Globe-Trotter is a highly exclusive luggage company that few outside of the United Kingdom are aware of. We recently accepted this phenomenal 3 piece set that left us speechless! Where did it come from? What makes it so special?
Globe-Trotter, established in 1897, is headquartered London and is the epitome of strength and class. Not just your typical run of the mill suitcase, Globe-Trotter manufactures their products from vulcanized fiber board rather than leather. This board, constructed from many layers of bonded paper is much better suited to resist water and certain types of kinks and bumps.
Throughout its history, many have chosen Globe-Trotter to accompany them on their worldly travels including Robert Falcon Scott on his legendary 1912 Antarctic adventures; Queen Elizabeth on her honeymoon in 1947; Sir Edmund Hilary on his quest to Mount Everest in 1953; and most recently James Bond in Skyfall.
What are your thoughts on the newest edition to the Luxury Closet list of brands? Any others you would like to see in the future? Let us know in the comments!
