#BagThursday: The Versatile Hermes Jypsiere

Often overshadowed by the Birkin and Kelly, the Hermes Jypsiere is a more casual option from the brand with a utilitarian feel and a saddle-like silhouette that pays homage to the heritage of the brand.

Jypsiere is quite versatile- it can be worn by man or woman, on the shoulder or across the body and comes in 3 different sizes.

This particular Jypsiere features a flap with belted straps and turn lock closure a la the famous Birkin and Kelly and is the mid-size 34cm (there is a smaller 28cm and a larger 37cm).

Introduced in 2008 by then creative director of Hermes, Jean Paul Gautier, the bag was meant to have an outdoorsy feel but still keep of the airs of elegance that the brand is so well known for.

Unlike the Birkin and Kelly, the Jypsiere is much more readily available in the Hermes boutiques throughout the world, though the color of this particular bag (Rose Jaipur) has been increasingly popular is many times hard to come by.
